One of Scotland's hidden gems Fort Augustus was laid out in 1924 by Harry Shapland Colt on the banks of the Caledonian Canal near Loch Ness. It's a traditional heathland course and is widely regarded as the most challenging 9 hole course in Scotland. There are dual tee positions giving the course a true 18 hole feel.
The dense gorse and heather that line the long narrow fairways demand accurate driving. The scenary never loses it's breathtaking appeal to those who have played here in the past or are visiting for the first time.
Their clubhouse is small and cosy which allows them to offer a personal welcome to all who play there and their licenced bar makes it the perfect place to have that much needed refreshing drink and relax and talk about the highs and lows of your round. They guarantee that you'll feel as though you've always been there and will want to come back.
Visitors are welcome and the current rate (at going to print) was £15 per nine holes and £18 per round (weekday). Please contact the golf club for further information.
